2013 SG Rooks Commits to Tigers

Clemson head coach got some good news Monday when Charlotte Christian’s Patrick Rook’s gave a verbal commitment to the Tigers.  TheClemsonInsider.com spoke with the 2013 standout about his decision and much more!

“I went down there yesterday.  It was my mom’s first time down there.  We met with coach Brownell.  I met with him for like two hours,” said Rooks.

Patrick’s mother, who graduated from Clemson, was impressed with the visit, especially Vickery Hall.

“My went to Vickery Hall.  My mom is a teacher.  She is real strong on academics.  She was giving them a lot of questions and they answered them all with flying colors,” said  Rooks.

The talented shooting guard almost made his commitment during the visit.

“I was going to do it yesterday, but I didn’t want to make an impulse decision,” said Rooks.

Monday Patrick called coach Brownell to give him the good news.

“He was excited.  He told me he can’t wait until I come down for another visit.  He told me he can’t wait to see me put that orange and purple on my chest,” said Rooks.

“I averaged 10 to 15 points per game, one or two rebounds and two or three assists,” said Rooks.

The commitment is firm according to Patrick.

“I just felt comfortable.  I am firm.  I am done.  I can’t wait to be a Tiger,” said Rooks.
