Sacred Heart, led by 23rd-year Head Coach Nick Giaquinto, is a member of the Northeast Conference and is making its second NCAA Tournament appearance. The Pioneers are 34-21 (23-9 NEC) on the season including a 23-14 mark away from home, 18-13 on opponents’ home fields and 5-1 at neutral sites. Sacred Heart has won seven straight games, but has not played since winning the NEC Championship on May 22. The Pioneers enter the NCAA Tournament with their best-ever record since joining Division I in 2000.

The Series

Clemson and Sacred Heart have never met on the diamond. In fact, the Tigers have never played a current member of the Northeast Conference. Likewise, Jack Leggett has also never faced a current member of the Northeast Conference. The Northeast Conference has made 15 appearances in the NCAA Tournament dating back to 1994 and its teams are 0-30 all-time.
