CLEMSON, SC- Highly touted quarterback Chad Kelly, out of Buffalo, NY will be visiting Tigertown to participate in Clemson’s second week of High School camp this Wednesday. TCI had a chance to speak with Kelly this weekend to see how close he was to making a final decision and where the Tigers fit into the mix.

Kelly will also be making a visit to the University of Alabama this week; these visits will be the last to the two schools of the summer for him.

First of all, you’re going to both Alabama and Clemson this week, how close are you to making your final decision?

Pretty close, I will have a final decision by the end of June.

Now which schools are you down to at this point?

I’m down to a top seven which are Clemson, Alabama, Syracuse, Buffalo, Florida State, Purdue, and Michigan State.

What are your main things that you look for when you visit these schools?

I’d have to say the main things I look at are the atmosphere, if I can get along with the coaching staff and players and also if the school has a great academic program. All three of these are very important to me.

Now when are you arriving at Clemson this week and are you going to be participating in the High School Camp?

I will be arriving in Clemson Tuesday evening and will be participating in the first session of Wednesday morning’s camp.

What would you say is something that stands out to you about the Tigers?

I love the fact that Clemson has a family atmosphere and is located in a small town and is a smaller school.

Now what are your thoughts of Coach Morris’s new offense that he’s bringing to Clemson and do you see yourself fitting into it if you do decide to become a Tiger?

I love Coach Morris’s offense. I think it fits me perfectly because I can run along with being able to throw the ball well.
