In just over a week Cortez Davis will enroll at Clemson. For the past months the Mainland High standout has been working out with some of this teammates.
“I am ready to go. I workout every morning with my team at school. We lift and run. I am in great shape. I am ready to see what I can do at Clemson,” said Davis.
Is the top defensive back nervous about leaving home?
“I am ready to leave home. It is time,” said Davis.
The 4-star defensive back has been keeping in touch with the Clemson staff.
“I talked to Dabo on Sunday. Then I spoke with coach Cheese on Monday. They congratulated me on getting into school and said they are happy to get me up there,” said Davis.
Cortez expects to make an immediate impact for the Tigers.
“Coach Cheese has been telling me they don’t want me to redshirt. They want me to help this year,” said Davis.
Cortez will be rooming with two 5-star linebacker and a good friend.
“I am going to room with Tony Steward, Grady Jarrett and Stephon Anthony,” said Davis.
Grady and Cortez keep in touch and spent some time together this summer.
“I talk to Grady all the time. I went up and spent some time with him,” said Davis.
