Earlier this month Oliver Jones spent several days in Clemson for the Dabo Swinney camp.
“I went down for the first session. I was there for the whole session, but didn’t participate in the camp,” said Jones.
The visit allowed Oliver to continue to build on the strong relationships he has with Clemson verbal commits Jay Guillermo and Patrick Destefano.
“They are good guys. They are easy to get along with. Their personalities and mine are the same. We really get along good. I consider those guys good friends,” said Jones.
The Ninety-Six standout’s rehab has gone well and he is ready to get back on the field this fall.
“It is coming great. I am running, lifting and doing what everyone is doing. I am close to 100 percent,” said Jones.
The biggest challenge is getting back in shape for football.
“I am still out of shape. I should be fine. I have time to get into shape before the season. That is the biggest hurdle. I have been off for seven months. It is kind of like learning to walk again,” said Jones.
A decision could come at any point, but should come over the next few months.
“I don’t know for sure when I will make it. I have said my deadline is September. I don’t want to take it too far past that. That time is for Ninety-Six. High school is my priority right now. When it hits me I will do it. I could be today. It could be tomorrow or it could be next month,” said Jones.
