Anthony Arrives with High Expectations

5-star linebacker Stephon Anthony will move in on Sunday to begin his career as a Tiger.  TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with one of the nation’s top linebackers Saturday to get his thoughts as he prepared to leave home for Clemson.

“I am getting very excited.  I am headed to Clemson tomorrow afternoon.  My mom, dad and uncle will be coming with me,” said Anthony.

Stephon hopes all of the hard work pays off when he arrives on campus.

“I feel good about it.  I have been working very hard lately.  I hope it pays off.  I will see what I can do,” said Anthony.

What has the prize recruit been hearing from the Clemson staff?

“They are ready to get me on campus.  They want me to get everything situated.  They let me know up front if I come in and work hard I can see the field,” replied Anthony.

Stephon has high expectations for his first year in orange.

“I want to stay focused and just play ball.  I want to be on the field when the season starts.  I have high expectations.  I feel I have a chance to come in and play.  I have the opportunity so I am going to work as hard as I can to take advantage of the opportunity,” said Anthony.

Leaving home is bittersweet for the former Anson County standout.

“It is kind of neutral.  I only live with my mom and my brothers are moving out also.  It will be hard to leave my mom by herself.  That will be new for her.  I am still excited though.  I am ready to come down and play ball.  She will be coming down a lot to check me out,” said Anthony.
