Jones Commits to Clemson

Ninety-six offensive lineman Oliver Jones gave Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney some good news Saturday afternoon when he committed to the Tigers.

“I went down there today and told coach Swinney I want to come to Clemson.  He was shocked.  He was very excited,” said Jones.

Why did Jones decide to commit on Saturday?

“I just knew I wanted to come to Clemson.  It didn’t make sense to wait any longer.  I knew I wanted to be a Tiger,” said Jones.

The 4-star lineman quickly shared the news with several of his future teammates.

“I already told Jay and Patrick.  They were glad to hear the news,” said Jones.

How does it feel to have the decision made?

“It feels great.  It is a big relief off my shoulders,” replied Jones.

Clemson has dominated the in-state offensive line recruiting for 2012.  Jones give the Tigers commitments from the top three offensive linemen in the state and becomes the 14th commitment for the class of 2012.
