All-American Jay Guillermo, one of the leaders of the 2011 class, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com. In this edition Jay discusses the start of practice, some recruits he has been talking with and much more!
We start school on Monday. I went out today and got all of my school supplies.
Practice started last week. Last Monday was our first day to hit.
I was real happy to get OJ (Oliver Jones) on board with Clemson. I knew he was going to end up coming but it is good for everyone to know.
I talked to Carlos Watkins today. The school I use to go to in North Carolina, the one my grandfather coached at and the stadium is named after plays against his team every year. I met him when I was visited Clemson. I know he still really likes Clemson.
I tried to talk with Eddie Goldman this week, but didn’t get him. I know he is going to play in the Under Armour game so I will get to talk with him there.
We have our first scrimmage this week. We play at Carson Newman against Greenville who won the 5A championship last year.
In about four weeks we play a big game that will be on television. Jerry Rice will be there to flip the coin. That is week one and it will be a huge game. I have never seen so much hate between two schools.
I know I will be in Clemson for the Troy game. It may be hard to come over for Wofford. I also plan to be there for Auburn and Florida State.
