Future Clemson offensive lineman Patrick Destefano and his Dorman teammates have begun practice for another run at a state title.
“We started practice Friday a week ago. Last Tuesday was our first day in pads. It has been good to get out there with my teammates,” said Destefano.
Dorman will open with a game on ESPN.
“We have a huge game with our first game. We open against Gaffney and that game will be on ESPN3. That is always a big game for us. I love that we have a big game to open the season. That makes everyone focus more in practice,” said Destefano.
The All-American will get a chance to play both ways in 2011.
“I will get to play some both ways this year. I love that. It will keep me on the field more,” said Destefano.
In late July Patrick got some good news when he was extended an invitation to play in the Under Armour All-American game.
“That was huge. Craig called from Under Armour and extended the invitation. As you know I had already accepted an offer to play in the Marine All-American game. I had to jump on the opportunity to play in the Under Armour game,” said Destefano.
Patrick will get to play with several of his future teammate in Orlando.
“Jay and Germone will be there. I will get to play on the line right beside Jay. I will be able to go out there and compete with the best,” said Destefano.
The senior is now putting all of his attention on a run for another state championship.
“I have to stay focused on my senior year. I owe that to Dorman and my teammates. I have to pay them back with a huge breakout year,” said Destefano.
