Jalen McDaniel, one of the top receivers in the Carolinas for 2013, helped lead Jack Britt to a victory in the season opener.

“We won 28-14 over Pinecrest.  I mostly blocked as we tried to be conservative.  I had three balls come my way,” said McDaniel.

Look for the talented athlete to play some defense as well in 2011.

“I just played offense this week.  When we play against some taller receivers I will play some defense,” said McDaniel.

Jalen keeps in touch with the Clemson staff.

“I talked with coach Scott and coach Steele recently.  We were just catching up.  I told them I will be coming up for a couple of games.  I told them Clemson is still on top,” said McDaniel.

Former teammate Eric MacLain is enjoying being a Tiger according to Jalen.

“He is doing good.  He said he is taking practice full force,” said McDaniel.

Jalen expects Jack Britt to improve as the season proceeds.

“We will get stronger as we mature.  We are a very young team.  We don’t have a lot of experience.  Every position has a younger player in front,” said McDaniel.

When will the top receiver visit Death Valley?

“I am coming down for Auburn and Florida State.  I want to see them against the best competition,” replied McDaniel.
