Junior center Dalton Freeman is eager to get the 2011 season underway as the Tigers are just days from kickoff.
“It has been a long camp. We are real excited about getting started. We finally get to hit somebody other than each other,” said Freeman.
Where have the Tigers improved since last season?
“I think in all areas. It has been a great offseason. I think we are in a lot better shape than we have ever been. Our conditioning is a lot better, our strength is a lot better. We have a lot more confidence. We have bought in to what these coaches are selling. I think our schemes are better,” said Freeman.
Coach Morris would like to run 80 plays or more per game and not substitute much on the offensive line. How will that impact the line?
“It is going to be tough, but that is what we have been preparing for. That is what we have been preparing for ever since January when we started our offseason training. We feel really good about it. Like I said we are in the best shape we have ever been. As an offense that is what you want. You keep the ball the whole time and score a lot of points. That makes it tough on the defense,” said Freeman.
