Rally Cat Report - Time for Football

By Nicole Smith.

As football season gets underway the Rally Cat Report returns to TheClemsonInsider.com.  Each week get the latest from one of the Tiger’s Rally Cats.

The excitement is spreading all around Clemson’s campus as we gear up to begin the 2011 Football season!! Not only are all the students showing their excitement, but the 2011-2012 Rally Cats have never been more excited for kickoff! We have all been practicing extra hard these last three weeks, trying to get all of our sidelines polished and making sure all of our new teammates feel confident for their first Clemson football game.

All the festivities begin tomorrow evening at 6pm, with the First Friday parade! All the Clemson teams, organizations, clubs, band members, etc. will be marching in the parade chanting and getting all the tiger fans pumped up for the football game on Saturday! Among all those teams marching in the parade will be us Rally Cats, marching along with the Clemson Cheerleaders and the Clemson Band. First Friday is always a very exciting time for our team because it is one of our first appearances all together and not only do we get to wear our uniforms and cheer for our tigers, we get to end the parade by dancing on Riggs field before the Clemson Soccer game tomorrow night! We have been working very hard on our First Friday dance and cannot wait to show it to the crowd tomorrow! This dance is a jazz/hip-hop routine choreographed by our Senior Captain, Christi, and our Junior Captain, Amber. We hope the Clemson family enjoys it!

Saturday pre-game activities begin at 12:30 for the Rally Cats! Come out to the radio show where you see me, Nicole, along with our Senior Captain, Christi! We will be handing out free gifts and dancing on stage before the game begins! Rally Cats will also be at the infamous Tiger Walk which should begin around 1:30 where we will be cheering on the coaches and football team as they arrive at the stadium and walk in! The pre-game parade is also a very exciting activity which the Rally Cats get the privilege of participating in! We will cheer and march all the way into the stadium where we will all anxiously await kickoff which is at 3:30!

Being a senior this year, along with three of my other teammates, I hope to make this year one to remember forever! Each game will continue to get even more exciting and thrilling as time passes! I am going to soak up every minute of every practice, event, game, appearance that the Rally Cats will be part of! This year is going to be amazing, and I am so blessed to be able to spend it with 15 other wonderful girls! This will be the best year yet, with the best team!
