Dalton Freeman and the rest of the offensive line responded to critism with their best performance of the year. The coaching staff pushed the players hard last week.
“We try not to listen to the fans or the media too much, but when the coaches and other teammates come up and challenge us we take that personal. We are all competitors and we came here to compete. Any time someone challenged you it makes you rise to the occasion,” said Freeman.
How big is this week’s game between the top two teams predicted to battle for the division?
“Florida State has unbelievable talent that we see every year. We kind of know that they are going to be the frontrunners for the division and they should be with the talent that they have and the program they have established down there. For us it is huge. We have to prepare the best we have ever prepared. We have to go out Saturday and play one of the best games we have played,” said Freeman.
The Tigers have faired well winning the last four in the Valley. Does that make the team feel like they can win this year?
“Any game comes down to five or six plays, a missed assignment here or someone making a great catch. We think our skill matches up pretty well with them but they have unbelievable athletes. We need to do a great job,” said Freeman.
