It seems like just a few days ago that the Tigers won a tournament game in Dayton and ended the season in Tampa. The Tigers hope to carry over some confidence from last season.
“I think we have a little bit of momentum. It felt good to finally get that NCAA win. We realize coach Brownell’s system works. The sky is the limit as long as we pull these freshmen up. We are going to play hard and do good things this year,” said Young.
How important will it be to get some of the younger guys to contribute?
“It is going to be really important. We are going to need those guys so that we can have a deep bench. That is definitely a big thing in the ACC. There are going to be a whole bunch of games we have to grind out and we are going to need a deep bench. Those guys are really going to have to catch on quick. They are eager to learn and they have been asking us questions and asking the coaches questions so that is always a good thing to see,” said Young.
How will the leadership role be different this year for the seniors?
“I think we are just going to have more of a vocal role. We had other guys to be that vocal person. This year we really have to step up and really fill that void and I think we are ready to do that,” said Young.
What are Andre’s expectations for this season?
“My expectations are going to be like everyone’s. We are going to come out here and play hard and give it all our effort. We are going to come here and practice hard every day. That is going to be our goal to get better every day. That is going to translate over to the court on game day,” said Young.
