Watkins is a Tiger

Friday night 4-star defensive tackle Carlos Watkins announced that he is committed to the Clemson Tigers.  Before announcing during his game Carlos let the coaches at Clemson and Florida know his decision.

The Shrine Bowl selection picked the Tigers over the Florida Gators.  The offer list for the Chase standout was very impressive including Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest and several others.

Earlier Carlos told TheClemsonInsider.com about what he liked about the Tigers.

“I mean I just love the campus and the facilities, it’s a great place.  It’s the school that offered me first.  The fans are great and very supportive,” said Watkins.

TheClemsonInsider.com watched Carlos dominate a game earlier this year.  Check out the highlights from the win over Chesnee.

Carlos becomes the 11th Clemson commitment to make the Shrine Bowl.  Watkins becomes the 17th commitment for the Tiger’s 2012 class.
