Allen Plays Through Pain

Tight end Dwayne Allen walked into his interview Tuesday in the WestZone wearing a boot on his foot.  Allen has been injured for the past few weeks, but has been playing through the pain.

“My toe blew up on me after the game.  It is an injury I have been playing on for a couple of weeks now.  I did the exact same thing C.J. did his senior year.  I am just playing with it.  This is just kind of the routine I am used to coming into the week,” said Allen.

Did Dwayne practice Monday night?

“Yeah, just to relieve a little pressue of it they put me in a boot today,” said Allen.

Is the injury turf toe?

“Yes, that is exactly what it is,” said Allen.

How difficult is it to play?

“It is extremely painful.  Oh man, after the game if I wasn’t in a room filled with other men and other players I might have been in tears.  Without a doubt.  That is how painful it is.  But at this point in the season everyone has injuries and everyone is hurting.  You just have to push through it.  We have a guy like Rashard Hall who is holding off surgery to be able to play so for me to play through just a toe injury is nothing,” said Allen.
