Last week rumors swirled that 5-star defensive end Jonathan Bullard had made a silent commitment to the Tigers. The Crest standout denied the rumors.
“I don’t know where those rumors came from,” said Bullard.
“We had a good game. I think we won 42-0. I did pretty good. They kind of ran away from me, but I got some backside tackles. This week we play Kings Mountain,” said Bullard.
In late October Jonathan made an official visit to Nebraska.
“I like it. It was a neat place. Everything looked brand new. It was a pretty fun trip,” said Bullard.
“I am going to Florida the weekend of the Florida State game,” said Bullard.
This weekend the All-American will see the Gators again.
“I am going to see the South Carolina Florida game. I think my dad is going to visit with me,” said Bullard.
Clemson verbal commitment and good friend Carlos Watkins is working hard to get Jonathan to join him at Clemson.
“I haven’t talked to him this week, but every time I do he is talk to be about Clemson. He really wants me to go there,” said Bullard.
How close is the prize recruit to reaching a decision?
“I am getting there. I kind of have some ideas. I need to sit down with my family and talk about a few things,” replied Bullard.
What will be most important when Jonathan makes his final decision?
“I just want to go where it is the best fit for me. I want to have a good relationship with my position coach. I want to have an opportunity to play early,” replied Bullard.
Clemson is playing 43 freshmen and red-shirt freshmen this season. The Tigers have proven to Jonathan that they will play the freshmen.
“It would be possible to play early a number of places and Clemson is one of them. When they say the best man can play they mean the best man can play at Clemson,” said Bullard.
