When the Tigers hit the field or the court the Rally Cats do their best to make sure the Clemson fans are in the game. Each week one of the Rally Cats will bring you the latest from the field or court.
The Rally Cats cannot believe that home football season is coming to an end this Saturday afternoon when the Clemson Tigers take on Wake Forest beginning at noon. As for me and all of the other senior Rally Cats, this will be the last time we get to dance on the field in Death Valley; we have an emotional weekend ahead of us!
The Rally Cats will report at Jervey Gym at 8:45am to prepare for the noon kickoff. Each event that leads up to kickoff will be cherished by the team, especially us seniors. At approximately 9:30am the team will walk to ‘Tiger Walk’ together to cheer on our Tigers as they arrive and walk into the stadium. ‘Tiger Walk’ is always a very exciting event for us Rally Cats, the fans, and the football team; it is a wonderful tradition that I am definitely going to miss being a part of. At around 10:20 we will hike up the hill right in front of the stadium to prepare for the pre-game parade that marches into the stadium. The senior Rally Cats switch off with the senior Cheerleaders to ride in the Clemson mustang during the parade. This week the senior Rally Cats will be riding in the car during the parade. The parade is also a pre-game event that I will miss dearly. Once we enter the stadium the extreme amount of excitement begins, and we all hope every seat in Death Valley is filled to cheer on our Tigers to a big win against Wake Forest. All of us Rally Cats want it to be a great game for our senior football players, and we have no doubt that the Tigers will FIGHT….AND WIN.
Along with football season coming to an end, basketball season kicked off last Saturday with the Tigers exhibition game against Queens College. The Tigers took home a win, while also showing off all of the new players skills on the court. The basketball team will take on Gardner Webb at 8pm in LittleJohn this Friday, November 11th. The Rally Cats will be their cheering the Tigers on, while also performing a very entertaining jazz/hip-hop routine during halftime. At practice this week, we are setting our sidelines for the basketball and football games, and we are perfecting out halftime for the basketball game.
Us Rally Cats have a full weekend of dancing and cheering ahead of us, but this weekend will be different than most for all of the senior Rally Cats, Cheerleaders, Players, and Fans, it will be the first of many lasts this year. This weekend will be cherished and never forgotten, memories will be made and tears will be cried, but in the end we will always be able to say “I am a Clemson Tiger!”
