Whenever the Tigers hit the field or the court the Rally Cats do their best to get the Clemson fans fired up. Each week one of the Rally Cats will bring you closer to the action.
This past weekend was the perfect ending to a perfect home season. I can’t believe, however; that the next time I cheer in Death Valley it will be the first game of my senior year. Every year it gets harder and harder to say goodbye to our seniors, and needless to say dancing my last football game with this group was the toughest yet. One thing that has been unique about this team since I was a freshman has been the closeness between each girl on the team. I have had three years to develop relationships with the class ahead of me, and they are all some of my best friends. I don’t even want to think about them graduating in a semester!
On a brighter note, we are so excited to be able to say we will be in attendance and on the field at the ACC Championship in a couple of weeks!! Six of us will be traveling, along with six all girl cheerleaders and twelve co-ed cheerleaders. It is always a special treat when we get to dance at away football games since we are normally only able to travel to basketball tournaments. For some of us this will be our second time dancing in the Panther’s stadium. Six of us were also able to attend the bowl game there last year, which despite the loss, was so much fun.
The opportunities I’ve had to travel with either football or basketball have been some of my neatest college experiences. Last year I was able to travel not only to Charlotte for the bowl game, but also to the NCAA tournament during basketball season. We flew to Dayton, Ohio, then down to Tampa, Florida, and back to Clemson. It isn’t often you get to miss a week of school to fly from place to place, staying in hotels with your best friends. Just another perk of being a Rally Cat I suppose!
Until Charlotte, we have quite the lineup of basketball games to keep us busy. I’m looking forward to cheering our Tigers to victory, entertaining the crowd with halftimes and timeouts, and seeing Little John filled with fans. Stay tuned for more on the beginnings of basketball season as well as our upcoming travels to the ACC Championship. Go Tigers!
