Former Clemson All-American Jackie Calvert died Monday.  Jackie played football and ran track for the Tigers from 1948-50.

The All-American still holds Clemson’s career record for rushing yards per attempt.  Jackie was a 25-th round pick of the Los Angeles Rams and was inducted into the Clemson hall of fame in 1977.

Jackie had been suffering from Alzheimer’s, but would still talk about his Tigers.  His biggest smiles would come as he remembered his Tigers.

Jackie was a member of the 1951 Clemson Orange Bowl team.

Our prayers go out to his wife, his daughter Lucia and the rest of his family.
