By Jay Guillermo.
Future Tiger Jay Guillermo, one of the leaders of Clemson’s 2012 recruiting class, is doing a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com. In this edition the All-American discusses his All-Star experience, graduating from high school and much more.
I am in North Carolina this week to see some family. I came down with my Grandfather to see all our family here. I will be in North Carolina until Wednesday.
I am going to try to go by and see Jonathan Bullard on Tuesday.
The All-Star game was really run. The West had a guy Woody Barron who is committed to Virginia Tech. He normally is a defensive end, but he played against me. He is about 265 or 270. They moved him to nose guard so we matched up during the game.
On the third play I pancaked him. I stood over him and told him it was going to be just like the Virginia Tech Clemson game. I had bought some Clemson wrist bands for the Under Armour game. I was wearing those so I was all decked out in orange. I think I counted six pancakes. He was a good pass rusher. He had a great swim move.
We ended up losing 20-14. They blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown to win the game.
I had a great time. The whole week was fun. It was great being there with the guys and telling stories.
I talked with a lot of my future teammates last week. I talked to Patrick DeStefano some. I saw where he dislocated his finger. I also talked with Oliver Jones and Shaq Lawson. I talked with Ronnie Geohaghan and Travis Blanks also.
Travis and I are both done with high school. I am a high school grad and I’m going to Clemson. I can’t express how excited I am to get to Clemson.
