Jennings A New Player in 2012

By caught up with Milton Jennings after one of his top performances as a Tiger as Clemson defeated Florida State.  Milton and his teammates brought energy on the court for 40 minutes as they cruised to an easy victory.

“The energy you saw was the beginning of ACC play.  This year we have been kicked a few times and let up a few games.  This team we have a bunch of great guys and know how to play.  We are tired of it.  Just being in the ACC in gave us that extra kick that we needed.  You just saw a team that played with everything.  Everybody boxed out.  They were bigger than us but it didn’t help them.  They had to go small and it kind of helped them a little bit, but it didn’t matter. We were up by 20 and by then it was over,” said Jennings.

What was the key to playing so well inside?

“We moved them in the paint.  I remember a few times I just jabbed and went the other way.  I got my arm grabbed and lost the ball a few times.  I scored a bucket or kicked the ball out.  I kicked out to Tanner one time.  We got in the paint and if they went for our great shooter I just pulled up or found BoBo in the hole,” said Jennings.

Is this the performance Milton has been waiting on?

“The biggest thing for me personally was learning how to be a team player.  I spoke about it earlier in the season but I don’t know if I truely believed it myself.  But now with the new year that is kind of my new thing personally.  I kind of brought it in and I was a great team player.  I was playing great and I got taken out.  Usually I get an attitude and say why is coach taking me out.  Today I just ran off and said let the next person go with the same energy and then I will come right back on and do the same thing again.  I like the product,” said Jennings.
