US Army All-American Carlos Watkins enjoyed the opportunity to compete against some of the top players in the nation last week.

“It was a great experience.  They treated us great out there.  I enjoyed the opportunity to play against some of the best players in the nation,” said Watkins.

Carlos had the opportunity to get to know several of his future Clemson teammates better during the trip.

“I already knew Bradley and Germone from the Shrine Bowl.  We all hung out together.  I got to room with Travis Blanks so we got to know each other.  It was good to build those relationships,” said Watkins.

Coach Brooks talks frequently with his prize recruit.

“I call him and we talk a lot.  He tells me how he can’t wait to get me on campus,” said Watkins.

This weekend Carlos will be on campus for his official visit.

“I am coming for my visit this weekend.  My mom and dad will be coming with me,” said Watkins.

What does Carlos hope to see this weekend?

“Well I have already seen pretty much everything.  I just want to get to know some of the players better and spend time with the guys and the coaches,” said Watkins.

Carlos watched his good friend Jonathan Bullard commit to Florida during the game.  Any chances Jonathan will get Carlos to give the Gators another look?

“No, I am firm with Clemson,” said Watkins.
