CLEMSON, SC- Chad Kelly a leader of Clemson’s 2012 recruiting class agreed to do a diary with TheClemsonInsider.com. In this edition Chad talks about participating in the Under Armor All American Bowl, his in-home visit with his soon to be head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Chad Morris, and when he plans to make his next trip down to Tigertown.
The Under Armor game was such a great experience. I can remember last year watching the game on television and hoping that I would have the chance to play in it my senior year. I got a chance to compete against some of the best players in the nation and I didn’t do half bad. It was a dream come true. I was injured at the end of the first half however I feel great now.
Today I had my in home visit with Coach Swinney and Coach Morris and it went great, we all had a lot of fun. The coaches got to meet my grandparents, and see both my Uncle Jim and Dan. The coaches told me that they want me to be ready to compete when I get to Clemson. I have to have the mindset that I won’t go in as the starter but my job will be to compete with Tajh and continue to push him. I enroll at Clemson in May and start classes on May 16th so I’ll be one of the first members of the 2012 class besides the early enrollees to enroll and get started preparing for the season.
I think it’s pretty neat that several members of my class have already enrolled at Clemson. It makes me want to get down there now and stay.
I will be heading down to Clemson next Friday for Junior Day and will be staying until Sunday to help with recruiting. There are going to be some top prospects at Junior Day and I want to be there to help them see how special Clemson is.
Until I enroll, I will continue to work out every day. I’ve been working out, running, and training at the Buffalo Bills field house with NFL players and hoping to continue to improve every day.
