Bloomfield - Tigers High on List

2013 offensive lineman Joey Bloomfield is already hearing from some of the top teams around the nation, including the Tigers.

“I don’t have any offers, but I am hearing from teams from around the country.  Teams from the ACC, SEC, PAC 12, BIG 12 and BIG TEN,” said Bloomfield.

Who are some of the schools showing interest?

“Clemson, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Purdue, Colorado, Washington, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Duke are a few,” replied Bloomfield.

Where do the Tigers stand?

“They are high on the list or me,” replied Bloomfield.

What will be important when Joey decides his college destination?

“First I will look at academics.  That is very important to me.  I want to make sure there is a good atmosphere.  Location doesn’t play a role in my decision,” replied Bloomfield.

Coach Caldwell is recruiting Joey for the Tigers.  A few Junior Day trips are scheduled.

“I am going to Kentucky on Tuesday.  Then I am going to Cincinnati later this month.  I am planning to visit Virginia in February,” said Bloomfield.

The decision timing is not clear at this time for the junior.

“I am not sure yet.  When I find the right school it will be time.  I will probably get it done before next season,” said Bloomfield.

What are Joey’s strengths?

“Run blocking and protecting the quarterback.  I am also a physical hardnosed player.  I get pretty nasty.  I am a leader and a team player,” replied Bloomfield.
