Catcher Spencer Kieboom is excited for the first series of the year.
“We are definitely ready to play. It has been a good fall. It started off strong in the spring and we kind of kept things rolling. Everyone is excited to get out there and play that first series of the year,” said Kieboom.
There will be plenty of opportunities for new faces in the field and at the plate.
“It creates a lot of opportunities. There are a lot of gaps to be filled. There are a lot of guys that have stepped up and are ready to fill those gaps and make a name for themselves and for Clemson baseball this year,” said Kieboom.
How does Spencer feel about the rotation for opening weekend?
“Yeah you got Brady on Friday, Dom on Saturday and Haselden on Sunday. All three have been looking really sharp in the scrimmages. They have been doing a great job against us and doing a great job on the mound controlling the game. I am anxious to see how all three of them do this weekend,” said Kieboom.
Does the success of the South Carolina program the past few years add more pressure to Clemson?
“South Carolina has had two really good seasons and nobody can take that away from them. They accomplished something you don’t really see anybody accomplish. Hats off to them but this year is 2012 and it is a new year,” said Kieboom.
