Clemson, SC—Terrell McIntyre scored 30 points and added 14 assists and nine rebounds to lead the White team to a 107-103 victory over the Orange team in Clemson’s first Alumni basketball game.  The game was held in conjunction with Clemson’s 100-Year Anniversary of Basketball.

The Tigers meet NC State at 2:30 PM on Saturday.  Clemson’s 100-year Anniversary team will be introduced at halftime.

Three of Clemson’s all-time greats served as coaches.  All-time leading scorer Elden Campbell and Bobby Conrad, the starting point guard on Clemson’s Elite Eight team of 1980,  were coaches of the Orange team, while Trevor Booker and former teammate Jonah Baize were coaches of the victorious White team.   Booker was in town for the celebration while the NBA takes a break for the All-Star game this Sunday.

McIntyre scored 30 points on eight three-point goals, four free throws and one two-point goal.  The former All-ACC guard and league scoring champion is in his first year of retirement after playing 11 years of professional basketball, the last 10 in Europe.   Robinson added 28 points, eight assists and seven steals in the 40 minute game that featured a running clock until the final two minutes of each half.

Matt Morris added 26 points and like Robinson made six three-point goals.  The White team made 20-45 three-point shots while the Orange team was 12-37.

Greg Buckner led the Orange team with 28 points and six assists, while Tom Wideman and former walk-on Chris Poole had 22 points and 11 rebounds.   Poole made  six-three point goals, many from long range. The Orange team won the rebounding 51-39 and both teams had 16 turnovers.  The difference was the three-point shooting.

The Orange team led for most of the game, including 57-48 at halftime.  They still had a nine-point lead with 10 minutes until McIntyre hit three consecutive three-point goals.  The White team went up by eight on a three-point goal by Robinson with two minutes left, 101-92.  The Orange team cut the margin to four on three occasions, but could get no closer.
