Herbert Moore, one of the top defensive tackles in the South, and his father visited Ole Miss over the weekend.
“I loved it. I felt like I was at home. We toured the campus and saw the weight room. I talked with the head coach and the defensive line coach,” said Moore.
Several other visits are already planned for March.
“I am going go Vanderbilt on March 24 and then Mississippi State on March 31,” said Moore.
The offer list stands at five and continues to grow for the prize recruit.
“I have offers from Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Clemson, North Carolina and Illinois,” said Moore.
Several other schools including Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Kentucky are showing strong interest.
When asked about his current leaders, Moore responded, “Ole Miss and Clemson are right now”.
A trip to Tigertown is planned for the summer.
“I told Clemson I would come over the summer. I am going to try to go to camp and also take another visit there,” said Moore.
What is Herbert hearing from the Clemson staff?
“They love me. They have watched my film and love the way I move. The one problem is I am over the weight they would like. They want me at 300. Right now I am about 330,” replied Moore.
There is a change in the commitment timing.
“I had planned to stretch it out to signing day, but I may try to do something over the summer. It depends when I take the other visits,” said Moore.
