Future Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson can now move his focus to football only with basketball coming to completion.

“We lost in the first round to Southside.  I have an all-star basketball coming up for the North South in Myrtle Beach,” said Lawson.

The 4-star defensive end is doing the workout plan provided by the staff.

“I have started the workout plan.  It is good.  I am getting pumped before I come to Clemson.  I went over and watched a video on the workouts.  It helped me a lot,” said Lawson.

Shaq plans to spend a lot of time on campus once spring practice start next week.

“I am ready.  I can’t wait to go over for spring practices.  I am ready to learn the play book.  I will be over there every day trying to learn as much as I can,” said Lawson.

The Daniel standout plans to help the Tigers in 2012.

“I feel good about getting on the field.  That is why I want to learn the playbook before I get there this summer.  I will enroll on July 3.  I will do everything I can before I get on campus,” said Lawson.

What is Shaq hearing from the Clemson staff right now?

“They just tell me to be ready.  They say all of the freshmen could play on the line.  They tell me to stay focused and finish up strong in the classroom,” replied Lawson.
