Clemson, SC – The Tigers defeated Boston College 6-3 Saturday night at Doug Kingsmore in front of 4,598 fans.

Dominic Leone got the start for the Tigers.  Leone went 5.2 innings and gave up only one hit, two runs and two earned runs.   Dominic had 51 strikes in 87 pitches with four walks and one strikeout.  Jonathan Meyer closed things out for the Tigers.  Meyer went 3.1 innings and gave up three hits, one run and one earned run.

Steve Wilkerson went 3-5 with one RBI.  Phil Pohl went 2-3 with two RBIs.  Brad Felder went 2-4 with a homerun.

Clemson jumped to an early lead in the first inning.  With two outs Richie Shaffer doubled down the left field line.  Phil Pohl followed with a single to left to score Shaffer.

In the bottom of the second the Tigers exploded for four runs.  Spencer Kieboom and Dominic Attanasio both walked to start the inning.  Brad Felder singled to right to load the bases with no outs.  Thomas Brittle singled to center to score Kieboom.  Steve Wilkerson singled to score Attanasio.  With one out Richie Shaffer walked to score Felder.  Phil Pohl singled to right to score Brittle.  After two innings Clemson led 5-2.

The Tigers added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh.  Brad Felder hit a two-out solo homerun to right center to put Clemson on top 6-2.  Felder hit his third homerun of the season and his second of the series.

Clemson moved to 8-8 on the season and 2-3 in the ACC with the victory.  The Tigers and Boston College play the final game of the series Sunday at 11:30 AM.  Note the game time has moved from noon.
