All-American Carlos Watkins has been working hard to prepare to help the Tigers when he arrives on campus this summer.
“I have been doing the workout plan they gave me. Just doing lots of running and lifting,” said Watkins.
Coach Brooks can’t wait to get Carlos on campus.
“Coach Brooks has been telling me to train hard and work hard to finish school strong. He told me to get down there so I can get ready for the season,” said Watkins.
In less than three months the future Clemson defensive tackle will enroll.
“I am coming down July 2 or 3,” said Watkins.
Does Carlos believe he can help the Clemson defense next fall?
“Yeah, I really do. I talk to coach and he tells me to be ready. That is what I am working towards,” replied Watkins.
The prize recruit has been keeping in touch with some of his future teammates.
“I have been talking with Bradley, Travis and the guys that are already there. I have also been talking some with D.J. Reader,” said Watkins.
Carlos is also working to convince his cousin Dane Rogers to join him at Clemson.
“I have been talking to him. We go to the same church. He said he likes it a lot but it is too early to know what he will do,” said Watkins.
Will Carlos be in Tigertown for the Orange White game?
“Of course, most definitely,” replied Watkins.
Is Carlos excited about getting to Clemson or sad about having to leave home in a few months?
“Man I can’t wait. I am just trying to make it through the last few weeks. I am so excited. I can’t even explain how excited I am. I have been telling my mom I am ready to go,” replied Watkins.
