Brittle Sunday Postgame

By caught up with Thomas Brittle Sunday following the loss to NC State.

On his hot hitting versus losing a series:

It is a little frustrating, but it is all about winning. It does not matter that much how I am doing personally. I can go 0-for-4, but as long as we get the win then I am OK with it.

On the fifth inning today:

They just started putting some swings on good pitches and strung some hits together to get a rally going. Once they did that, it seemed like they really caught fire and scored some runs.

On bringing the rest of the team along with his hitting:

I just have to trust all of them that they will keep swinging the bats. I cannot put any pressure on anyone else, I just have to worry about myself and everyone else will get going too.

On 12 fly ball outs today as a team:

We definitely talked about that after the game. Our park is a big park and the wind usually blows in so very few guys anywhere could get the ball out today. The 12 fly ball outs is way too many in a game like this.

On his hot streak the last few games:

I have not really changed anything; some things are just falling into place. I am just trying to relax at the plate and simplify everything.

On only having a single midweek game coming up:

It is definitely a good thing that we can get some rest. We had these four weeks in a row with five games so everybody is a little beat up right now. Getting that extra day off will definitely be a help coming up.
