Kamara - Passion for the Game

By Ashley Denny.

CLEMSON, SC- TCI caught up with highly touted defensive back David Kamara out of Grayson High School Tuesday night and spoke with him not only about his recruiting process but the possibility of the Grayson Trio landing at the same school.

First of all David, how many offers are you up to right now?

I have four offers now from Clemson, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Wake Forest.

Do you have a top three?

I like Clemson, Ole Miss, and LSU a lot.

Are you close to making a decision?

I’m taking my time in making my final decision, but I want to have my mind made up before my senior season starts.

You said that Clemson was one of your top schools, what makes it so special?

Clemson is just one big family and I really like that. Also the coaches there keep it real; Coach Swinney is a good Christian guy and I really like that about him. Overall the family atmosphere is what makes Clemson special.

You’ve expressed how the Grayson Trio of you, Wayne Gallman and Robert Nkemdiche would like to play together if possible, what’s the chance that it will happen?

There’s a high chance, all three of us like Clemson but it all comes down to where each of us feel at home and if it’s at the same school that’s great but if not we’re all going to go where we’re happiest.

Do you have any visits planned?

Right now I’m just focusing on school and spring practice. Our team is coming together, we’re getting there.

What would you say your best quality is as a player?

My passion and love for the game, I give it my all every time I step onto the field no matter what the outcome. I will do anything for my team to help us win.

Are there any current NFL players or collegiate players that you model your game after?

I’d say Deion Sanders, Morris Claiborne, and Tyran Mathieu. All of them are good at both man and zone coverage.  I watch film on these players who I think are some of the best cornerbacks and try to model my game after theirs.
