The ACC, the nation’s top conference according to Warren Nolan, wrapped up the regular-season this past weekend. The conference finished the regular-season with a 216-77 (.737) mark against non-ACC foes. This week five teams (Florida State, Miami (FL), NC State, North Carolina, and Virginia) remain ranked in the top-25 in at least one poll led by top-ranked Florida State. The ACC Tournament begins Wednesday, with all eight teams participating currently ranked in the top-32 of the RPI.

Boston College                    Overall: 22-33        ACC: 10-20

The Eagles dropped a home series to Duke to close their regular-season. Boston College has now wrapped up their 2012 campaign.

Duke                                      Overall: 21-34        ACC: 9-21

5/19    @ Boston College     L, 2-14

The Blue Devils won a road series at Boston College to close their regular-season. Duke has now wrapped up their 2012 campaign.

The Seminoles, ranked as high as #1 in the nation, won two of three home games against #13 NC State last weekend. This week Florida State will be the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament where they will face #8 seed Georgia Tech Wednesday, #5 seed Clemson Friday, and #4 seed Virginia Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets dropped a tough home series to #21 Miami (FL) last weekend, but was able to grab the last spot in the ACC Tournament. This week Georgia Tech will be the #8 seed and will face #1 seed Florida State Wednesday, #4 seed Virginia Friday, and #5 seed Clemson Saturday.

 

Maryland                              Overall: 32-24        ACC: 10-20

The Terrapins, who reached 30 wins for only the third time in program history, wrapped up their regular-season with a tough series loss to #19 Virginia. After not making the ACC Tournament, Maryland is a long shot to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Hurricanes, ranked as high as #21 in the country, took a road series from Georgia Tech last weekend. This week Miami (FL) will be the #6 seed in the ACC Tournament where they will face #3 seed NC State Wednesday, #2 seed North Carolina Thursday, and #8 seed Wake Forest Friday.

The Wolfpack, ranked as high as #14 in the nation, dropped a big series at #1 Florida State last weekend. This week NC State is the #3 seed at the ACC Tournament plays #6 seed Miami (FL) Wednesday, #7 seed Wake Forest Thursday, and #2 seed North Carolina Saturday.

 

North Carolina                    Overall: 42-13        ACC: 22-8

The Tar Heels, ranked as high as #5 in the country, swept Virginia Tech last weekend to keep the Hokies out of the ACC Tournament. This week North Carolina will be the #2 seed at the ACC Tournament, thanks to winning the Coastal Division, and will face #7 seed Wake Forest Wednesday, #6 seed Miami (FL) Thursday, and #3 seed NC State Saturday.

The Cavaliers, ranked as high as #17 in the nation, took a series at Maryland last weekend. This week Virginia is the #4 seed at the ACC Tournament where is faces #5 seed Clemson Thursday, #8 seed Georgia Tech Friday, and #1 seed Florida State Saturday.

The Hokies were swept at #6 North Carolina last weekend to put their NCAA at-large hopes in jeopardy. Virginia Tech, who did not make the ACC Tournament, will now have to wait and see if they are a somewhat surprising selection to the NCAA Tournament.

The Demon Deacons swept a series from Clemson to make the ACC Tournament and get back in the running for a NCAA Tournament bid. This week Wake Forest, the #7 seed in the ACC Tournament, faces #2 seed North Carolina Wednesday, #3 seed NC State Thursday, and #6 seed Miami (FL) Saturday.

The Panthers won a single game against #22 Louisville to squeak into the Big East Tournament as the #8 seed. This week Pittsburgh heads to the Big East Tournament, where they must win the title to make the NCAA Tournament, and opens against top seed Louisville.
