The Clemson coaching staff picked up their second commitment of the day when David Kamara gave Dabo Swinney the good news Wednesday night. The Grayson High standout arrived on campus around 4 PM Wednesday to watch the Dabo Swinney High School football camp.
“I just did it like 30 minutes ago. I talked to coach Swinney. I went up and told him I wanted to commit to Clemson,” said Kamara.
“He was excited. He gave me a big hug,” said Kamara.
Why did the Georgia standout decide to pull the trigger on the commitment now?
“It just felt right,” replied Kamara.
How firm is the commitment to the Tigers?
“It is 100 percent. I am firm,” said Kamara.
How did teammates Wayne Gallman and Robert Nkemdiche react to the news?
“They are both excited for me. They were both real happy,” said Kamara.
David believes his commitment will help Clemson’s chances of landing the nation’s top recruit.
“I mean I think we have a good chance. We will have to see,” said Kamara.
David becomes the seventh commitment for the Tiger’s 2013 class.
