Dudley High linebacker Chris Register will be one of the top linebackers in the nation in 2014. Chris made a visit to Clemson last week to watch the Dabo Swinney High School Camp.
“It was pretty nice. It is a natural setting with the lake and out in the country like where I live,” said Register.
Coach Swinney took time to speak with the prize recruit during his visit to camp.
“He came over there and talked with me. He asked how I was doing and we talked for a while,” said Register.
Clemson is one of two early offers, but expect that list to grow quickly.
“I have two offers, Clemson and Indiana. Carolina (North) is talking about one. I think once I go over there they will offer,” said Register.
The summer visit tour will have at least two more stops.
“I am going to go to Alabama in July and North Carolina,” said Register.
Which team did Chris pull for as he grew up?
“I liked Alabama. I had some family down there,” said Register.
The Dudley High standout also has family in the Palmetto state.
“I have family in South Carolina from my mom’s side. They are all over the place in South Carolina,” said Register.
When asked about his current leaders, Register responded, “Clemson and I would probably have to say South Carolina”.
Don’t expect an early decision from the top linebacker.
“I want to hold off at least until after my junior year. I might wait until signing day,” said Register.
