Clemson Host ESPN GameDay

Clemson will host the only four hour ESPN College GameDay of the year.

Consensus Top 15 Teams

Clemson and Georgia are both ranked in the top 15 in all of the major preseason polls.  There are only ten teams that are ranked in the top 15 of all the major preseason polls.

The highest ranking for Clemson in No. 6 in the Athlon poll.

Boyd and Murray among Nation’s Best

Tajh Boyd and Aaron Murray are two of the best quarterbacks in the nation.  Both led their teams to top ten rankings in 2012 and have them back in the top ten this year.  Murray has been a four year starter and will start his 41st game Saturday night.  Boyd will start his 28th game for the Tigers after starting the past two seasons.

Murray has 95 touchdown passes, the most of any active player.  Tajh Boyd is second with 73.  Boyd has 69 touchdown passes and 24 interceptions the last two seasons.  Murray 71 touchdowns and 24 interceptions over the same time period.

Boyd Returning ACC Player of the Year

Clemson’s Tajh Boyd was named the 2012 ACC Player of the Year and is back for his senior year.  There have only been five repeat winners of the award.  Roman Gabriel, Mike Voight, Steve Fuller, Don McCauley and Charlie Ward all were two time winners.

Six Top 25 Wins

Over the past two seasons Clemson has six wins against Top 25 teams.  Four of the wins have been away from Death Valley.

Ranked for 30Weeks

Clemson has been ranked in the top 25 in at least one of the major polls for the past 30 polls.  Alabama, Oregon, Stanford, LSU and South Carolina are the only other teams to have that honor.
