On Saturday evening we were all reminded once again that football is just a game and in the grand scheme of things it does not really matter.
As we all know, Clemson defensive tackle Carlos Watkins was involved in a serious car accident that took the life of one of his friends, who was also a former high school teammate. It’s a tragic event of circumstances, but it is also a reminder that we never know when the good Lord is going to call us home to Him.
It’s a reminder that we should not get so wrapped up in a game that we lose our focus on what is really important in our lives. After our faith we should put family and friends above a game. I think sometimes we forget to do that, and I’m as guilty as anyone else when it comes to this.
