Clemson enters the 2013 season with at least one legitimate Heisman candidate.  TCI will take a look each week at how the Heisman race is going as the season progresses.

Who are the contenders?  How does Tajh rank among the top candidates?

 

 

1. Johnny Manziel, QB       SO    Texas A&M                5-1

Season Stats: 131-179 (73.2%) passing for 1835 yards with 14 TDs & 5 INTs and 67 carries for 438 yards with 5 TDs in six games

Last Game: 31-39 (79.5%) passing for 346 yards with 1 INT and 19 carries for 124 yards with 2 TDs in team’s 41-38 win at Ole Miss

Next Game: Saturday, October 19 vs. #24 Auburn (3:30PM)

 

2. Marcus Mariota, QB       SO    Oregon                     6-0

Season Stats: 100-165 (60.6%) passing for 1724 yards with 17 TDs & 0 INT and 41 carries for 426 yards with 8 TDs in six games

Last Game: 24-31 (77.4%) passing for 366 yards with 3 TDs and 13 carries for 88 yards with 1 TD in team’s 45-24 win at #16 Washington

3. Tajh Boyd, QB               SR    Clemson                    6-0

Season Stats: 123-185 (66.5%) passing for 1783 yards with 15 TDs & 2 INTs and 66 carries for 187 yards with 5 TDs in six games

Last Game: 30-44 (68.2%) passing for 334 yards with 1 TD and 9 carries for 33 yards with a TD in team’s 24-14 win over Boston College
