Clemson enters the 2013 season with at least one legitimate Heisman candidate.  TCI will take a look each week at how the Heisman race is going as the season progresses.

Who are the contenders?  How does Tajh rank among the top candidates?

 

1. Marcus Mariota, QB       SO    Oregon                     8-0

Season Stats: 144-225 (64.0%) passing for 2281 yards with 20 TDs & 0 INT and 56 carries for 511 yards with 9 TDs in eight games

Last Game: 21-28 (75.0%) passing for 230 yards with 1 TD and 7 carries for 18 yards in team’s 42-14 win over #11 UCLA

Next Game: Thursday, November 7 @ #5 Stanford (9:00PM)

 

2. Jameis Winston, QB       FR    Florida State             8-0

Season Stats: 149-212 (70.3%) passing for 2502 yards with 24 TDs & 6 INTs and 50 carries for 153 yards with 3 TDs in eight games

Last Game: 21-29 (72.4%) passing for 325 yards with 1 TD & 2 INTs and 6 carries for 27 yards in team’s 41-14 win over #6 Miami
