Clemson verbal commitment Jefferie Gibson is taking his talents to the court.
“Our season is not the best, but I’m doing my best to lead the team. I am averaging 17.6 points and 6.5 rebounds the last time I checked. I am playing small forward,” Gibson told TheClemsonInsider.com.
The Clemson staff has been keeping in touch with Jefferie.
“They just tell me how they can’t wait for me to get down there and get started. They want to make sure no other coaches are getting to me,” said Gibson.
Jefferie continues to have other coaches from other schools try to get in the mix.
“They keep trying, but I have cut it off,” said Gibson.
The North Carolina standout was impressed with the Tiger’s Orange Bowl victory.
“I was hyped and excited because of the way we won with offense and big defensive plays. We shocked the world because nobody believed we would win,” said Gibson.
What position does the Clemson staff want to play Jefferie?
“They want to play me at safety,” replied Gibson.
What are Jefferie’s goals for his first year at Clemson?
“I just want to get bigger and faster and develop as a playmaker. I want to become an impact freshman and perform to the best of my ability and help Clemson reach a new level,” said Gibson.
