Coming this January: Tucker Israel

Hoping to get an early start to their college careers, almost all of Clemson’s 2015 commitments will enroll in January. Over the next few weeks, TheClemsonInsider will take an individual look at each player who will arrive next month.

Tucker Israel

Orlando-Lake Nona (FL)

3-Star QB (Scout, Rivals, 247)

His Background. The bulk of Israel’s offers started to roll in after he committed to Clemson in the first week of February. About a week after he pulled the trigger, Israel began to add offers from schools like LSU, UCLA, Louisville, Kentucky and Ole Miss. But Israel remained firm throughout the process, even after the commitment of Kelly Bryant and the departure by Chad Morris.

Quick Analysis. Israel will arrive to Clemson as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in Florida high school football history. Though he doesn’t have a physical skill set that will knock your socks off, Israel’s production and success at Lake Nona speaks for itself. His experience operating a hurry-up, no-huddle offense that’s very similar to Clemson’s is also a plus.

This Spring. Since Deshaun Watson will spend his spring sidelined because of injury, Israel and Bryant will share reps with the first-team offense. Veteran Nick Schuessler could also figure into the mix with the No. 1 offensive group.
