Since their visit for the Notre Dame game, Brent Venables has made multiple stops through Virginia Beach to see Breyon and Brandon Gaddy.
Breyon (6-2, 308) is a four-star defensive tackle (Scout, 247). Brandon (6-4, 260) is a three-star quarterback, according to Scout, and a two-star athlete, according to Rivals.
Of the two brothers, Breyon has the more impressive offer sheet, but Brandon is still getting plenty of looks, too.
The two brothers recently spoke to TheClemsonInsider about where things stand with the Tigers.
“It was really wet out there. It was really raining, but it was still fun while it was raining. I really liked it,” Breyon said of the Notre Dame visit.
Venables spoke with the Gaddys during their visit.
“He was so glad that I was down there, to see what it’s like to play at the college level. He was like, this could be yours when you get here,” Breyon said.
The brothers will visit Tennessee in March and they’ll try to return in the summer.
“It was really crazy. I really liked it so much. I really liked the game and all that,” Brandon said of Clemson.
Clemson evaluated him as a quarterback, but he believes tight end is the spot they’re got in mind now that two other 2017 quarterbacks are committed.
That’s fine with Brandon, because he’d rather play that position anyway.
“I like catching and stuff, crack backing people — just laying people out, that’s fun,” he said.
As a junior, Brandon caught 13 passes for 190 yards. He also rushed 144 times for 772 yards and 18 touchdowns. Brandon recorded 46 tackles.
