Clemson head coach Monte Lee said one of the reasons he moved Clate Schmidt to Friday night was so he could follow him with Pat Krall in relief. The first results were very positive from the move as Schmidt went seven innings, while giving up two runs and setting a career-high in strikeouts with 11. Krall closed the door in the eighth and ninth innings.
