Chase Pinder, who had a game-high four RBIs, belted a two-run single to give No. 23 Clemson the lead, then Chris Okey capped the scoring with a two-run double, Clemson’s only extra-base hit of the fourth inning in a 13-4 victory over the College of Charleston on Tuesday.
Clemson scored seven runs on eight straight hits in the fourth inning.
The Tigers (32-16) added four runs in the sixth inning, one run in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth inning.
Tiger reliever Patrick Andrews (1-0) earned his first win since 2013 by tossing 3.1 hitless and scoreless innings in relief with three strikeouts. Cougar reliever Clay Hunt (0-1) suffered the loss, as he gave up nine runs on nine hits in 1.2 innings pitched.
