Clemson strikes first

Clemson scored the first points of the game on a Greg Huegel 25-yard field goal to put the Tigers up 3-0 over NC State with 1:17 left in the first quarter.

The drive was kept alive with two NC State penalties; a pass-interference call against Mike Williams and an out-of-bounds hit on Ray-Ray McCloud.

Watson lead the team down the field 77 yards on 13 plays in 4:25.
