National powerhouse IMG Academy is undefeated at 10-0 heading into its matchup against Bishop Sullivan Catholic on Saturday, and Bradenton (Fla.) five-star defensive tackle Taron Vincent is anchoring the team’s defensive front.

Vincent, the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle in the 2018 class, has a stellar 107 tackles and eight sacks thus far.

“It’s a great feeling being undefeated,” Vincent said during an interview with The Clemson Insider, “and me individually, I’ve been playing pretty good, making a lot of plays.”

Vincent, the son of former NFL star Troy Vincent, owns well over two dozen offers, including ones from Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, UCLA and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder is hearing from a few schools the most right now.

“Ohio State, FSU, Alabama, UCLA and Michigan,” Vincent said.

Clemson 2018 linebacker commit Mike Jones has been in Vincent’s ear about Clemson.

“Yes everyday,” Vincent said, laughing.

What has he heard from Jones?

“Just saying like I need to get onto campus and meet the coaches and stuff,” Vincent said.

Vincent does plan to visit Clemson in the future.

“Yeah I think sometime after the season I’ll get down there on a visit,” he said.

Vincent attended Michigan’s game versus Wisconsin on Oct. 1, and he plans to attend Florida State’s game versus Florida next Saturday.

Right now, a few schools are leading in Vincent’s recruitment.

“Ohio State, FSU, Bama,” he said.

What will be key factors for Vincent when he makes a decision in the future?

“Good academics, good coaching staff and player environment,” Vincent said.

Vincent is rated by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle, the No. 1 prospect in Florida and the nation’s No. 14 prospect regardless of position.
