Commit Performances of the Week: Week 14


After Clemson clinched the ACC Atlantic Division title on Saturday at Wake Forest, only South Carolina and the Coastal division champion stand in its way of consecutive College Football Playoff runs.

As the Tigers come down to the finality of the regular season, Clemson recruits are playing their final games in their respective high school’s jerseys. They look to go on a playoff run of their own before they make the journey to Death Valley to officially become a Tiger.

Which recruits helped keep their teams’ playoff hopes alive?

Running back commit Cordarrian Richardson did his best impression of Wayne Gallman on Friday night, running for a pair of 32-yard touchdowns to help Trezevant (Tenn.) outlast Mitchell 28-20 in overtime. Richardson’s performance was impressive, especially if you consider that Mitchell had not given up a rushing score in the playoffs to that point.

Quarterback Chase Brice continued to push Grayson (Ga.) deeper into the playoffs, helping them roll over Woodstock 59-21. Brice had an impressive night, completing 18-of-23 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns. While Brice is expected to redshirt next year, he could find himself in the conversation if he performs like this at camp and can quickly learn the playbook.

Linebacker commit Baylon Spector once again quarterbacked Calhoun (Ga.) to a 41-20 victory over Jackson. Spector ran and passed for over 100 yards and scored four times, rushing for two and passing for two. Spector’s athletic ability should help him become a contributor for Clemson down the road.
