
On Friday night, several of Clemson’s commitments were in action for their teams in the playoffs. So was Cartersville (Ga.) five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Clemson’s top target and the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2018.
Lawrence threw for 227 yards and four touchdowns in Cartersville’s 38-17 victory over Mary Persons as Cartersville advanced to the Class 4A state championship game against Thomson. Meanwhile, Clemson commits Chase Brice of Grayson (Ga.) and LeAnthony Williams of Roswell (Ga.) will meet in the Class 7A state championship game after wins last night. Roswell won a matchup against Westlake (Atlanta) and Clemson commit A.J. Terrell, 28-0, while Brice passed for 294 yards and four touchdowns in Grayson’s 44-26 win against Mill Creek.
