Clemson is on the recruiting trail for another top linebacker in the class of 2019.
Shane Lee, a St. Frances (Md.) Academy product received an offer from Clemson back in March, but has not had the time to go to Clemson for a visit.
Lee told The Clemson Insider he only has a visit to Notre Dame coming up in the near future, but does not have any others planned.
Lee said a visit to Clemson could be in store, but he is not completely sure when. He has called Clemson a couple times in addition to some coaches coming to his school to visit him and discuss potential college options.
“School, football, life. When it would be good to take another visit,” Lee said of the conversations. “Any and everything that comes to mind.”
Lee does not currently have any leaders and none of the schools really stand out to him, but said that “the people were nice” at Clemson.
Lee is not rushing his recruitment and he told TCI he does not know when he will start to narrow down his recruitment list.
Standing at 6-foot, 240-pounds, the linebacker already has the size to be a college linebacker and thinks he could bring plenty of more to the Clemson football program.
“I think I would be a hardworking leader,” he said. “Someone who is always looking to get better and to help others get better. Just a real team player.”
Lee knows what he wants in a school, and said he is looking at the big picture when he decides.
“I’m looking for a 40-year plan not a four-year experience, choosing a school that will set me up for life will be what I’m mainly looking for when I visit,” he said. “Also the people are a big part.”
